Best lunch spots in Tampines

With IKEA Tampines and a Giant hypermarket in the vicinity, lunch at Tampines Industrial Crescent isn’t your standard industrial district fare. The nearby malls also provide plenty of gourmet and fast food options so there’s no reason to ever tire of lunch!

IKEA Tampines
Affordable and varied, IKEA offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options all under $10. Choose from Swedish-style meatballs and open-face sandwiches to Asian-style curry chicken and rice meals. Bonus: IKEA uses only responsibly caught and/or farmed seafood, and offers vegetarian and halal options.

O’brien’s Irish Sandwich Bar
Want to eat light and looking for a healthy option? Fill up on freshly-made sandwiches and salads at O’brien’s, then take away a freshly squeezed vegetable/fruit juice for a sweet afternoon treat. O’brien’s also offers more sinful cake and pastry options if dessert is what you’re after.

Bam Bam’s Café
Bam Bam’s Café operates a western food stall and an adjacent yong tau foo stall, both of which offer quality, affordable fare from sizzling steaks and fish and chips to handmade Ampang-style yong tau foo. Lunch lines here run long for a reason.

Tampines Mall
Don’t drive? Don’t worry: there’s always the shuttle service to take you from 18 TIC to Tampines MRT, which is connected to the always bustling Tampines Mall. There are fast food options like Burger King (#01-47) and Long John Silver’s (#04-23/35), restaurants like Din Tai Fung (#02-01/31) and The Soup Spoon (#B1-K2), and you can even squeeze in some shopping.

Tender Fresh Fried & BBQ Chicken (Tenderbest)
This is the stuff of affordable but indulgent Friday lunches. The menu is fairly extensive and ranges from Fish & Chips to Grilled Lamb Chops, but the draw here is indisputably the BBQ Spring Chicken and BBQ Wings. Moist, flavourful, filling, and best of all – doesn’t break the bank. A standing lunch date might be in order.

Giant Hypermarket Food Court
Choose from fiery laksa and Chinese vegetarian food to nasi padang and sliced fish soup.
